For the last several years, we’ve seen cladded Ford F-150 test mules on the prowl around the brand’s factory in Dearborn, Michigan. We knew that they were testing the 2018 model of the pickup, which ostensibly would come with the first diesel mill for the half-ton pickup, as well as a new grille. Now, we’re getting our first taste of it.

True to form, we are getting a diesel mill on the 2018 F-150. While the power numbers haven’t been launched, we’re expecting some pretty impressive torque figures. There are also seven new grilles, all of them based on the two-bar set up. These will give more differentiation between trims. Ford has also announced upgrades to the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 and the 5.0-liter V8.

Want more insight into the F-150 and what’s new? Keep your eyes on this blog as we approach the 2018 models’ autumn launch date. You can also check out the new 2017 model by swinging down to our Ford dealership in Athens, OH to learn more.
