Cars are quickly becoming more about electronics than mechanics, as automakers try to make them quieter, more feature packed, and easier to drive. Ford recently announced that the 2016 Edge will come with a new electronic adaptive steering system to make driving the crossover a more enjoyable experience.
You can see this system in action below:
All 2016 Edge Sport and Titanium models will arrive here at Don Wood Automotive with this adaptive steering system standard. This system uses an electric motor and gears to adjust the steering ration, changing the amount the wheels turn relative to the driver's input. At low speeds, the wheels turn more relative to the number of steering wheel turns, whereas the wheels respond more subtly at highway speeds for smoother lane changes.
If you're interested in trying out this new system, feel free to pop by our showroom located at 830 East State Street Athens, OH 45701. You can also browse out online inventory to see what other models we have in stock.
